2022 TV Shows I Can’t Wait To Watch

2022 is looking to be a good year for television. With, well, mostly everything shut down in 2020, much of the world is still playing catch-up, and that includes TV show productions as well. There are so many different shows that I’m looking forward to in 2022, but here are just some of the highlights:

2022 Tv Shows are looking great. It is going to be a good year for television. With, well, mostly everything shut down in 2020, much of the world is still playing catch-up, and that includes TV show productions as well. There are so many different shows that I’m looking forward to in 2022, but here are just some of the highlights: My 2022 TV shows to watch.

@FromBeeWithLove Bronte Huskinson 2002 Tv Show I'm Looking Forward To Euphoria

Euphoria (Season 2)

Euphoria is set to be released 10th January 2022 (9th if you’re in the US) and what a perfect way to start off the year! This show first graced our screens all the way back in 2019, which seems like a lifetime ago now. But we all know that Euphoria will be worth the wait because we all remember just how amazing the first season was

I, for one, cannot wait for all of the Euphora inspired looks to be across social media again.

Peaky Blinders (Series 6)

The final season of Peaky Blinders is coming back in early 2022, which I’m thinking will be around February-March time. Peaky Blinders has gained quite the big fan base over the years, including myself, and it will definitely be sad to see the show come to an end. But we do still have a movie to look forward to!

Sadly, Helen McCrory, who plays my favourite character Polly,  passed away in April, and it is unclear how much she filmed of the show. Either way, I know I will definitely be feeling the loss of Helen watching the final season.

The Lord of the Rings TV Series

The highly anticipated TV series of The Lord of the Rings is set to release the first 8 episode season on Amazon Prime on 2nd September 2022. That does feel like such a long time away, but hey, we have waited this long! I will just have to bing watch all of the movies (including the Hobbit) in that time and I should finish them all just in time for the premiere of the TV series.

One of the 2022 Tv shows I’m very excited for.

And if you are interested here are the books I can’t wait for in 2022.

The Gilded Age

I’m a fan of my HBO series, and The Gilded Age looks to be no exception! Set to be released at the end of January, The Gilded Age stars Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon. Its a Historical Drama about a young woman, Marian, moving from rural Pennsylvania to New York City after the death of her father to live with her old money aunt.

The show is from the creator of Downton Abbey, so you know it is going to be good!

@FromBeeWithLove Bronte Huskinson 2002 Tv Show I'm Looking Forward To House Of The Dragon

House of the Dragon

We can all agree that the final season of Game of Thrones was pretty divisive and considered disappointing by some, but I’m very excited for the spin-off series, House of the Dragon to premiere!

House of the Dragon is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and chronicles the beginning of the end for house Targaryen and the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war.

There is no set date for its release as I’m writing this article, but I will definitely be keeping my eye out!

Stranger Things (Season 4)

I feel like I have been waiting for the fourth season of Stranger Things for half of my life! We last saw our favourite gang of demogorgon fighters in 2019, and the fourth installment of the series is set to be released sometime in 2022. The young cast are definitely looking a lot older now!

I don’t think we will get many more seasons of Stranger Things after this one, so I will be savouring every moment of this. It’s probably one of my most highly anticipated releases of 2022!

@FromBeeWithLove Bronte Huskinson 2002 Tv Show I'm Looking Forward To Obi-Wan Kenobi

Obi-Wan Kenobi

I’m a big Star Wars fan, and I’m extremely excited for Obi-Wan to be having his own show, and I’m even more excited that Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen are returning to reprise their roles as Obi-Wan and Darth Vader. The show is set ten years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and will be directed by Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes of The Mandalorian

There is no set date for Obi-Wan Kenobi to be released, but I’ll be watching Disney+ like a hawk.

The Mandalorian (Season 3)

Speaking of The Mandalorian, the third installment is set to return sometime in 2022 so we can all get our fix of Baby Yoda (Yes, I know he is actually called Grogu).

The second season left us all in a pretty epic and heartbreaking way, I still remember the moment when I saw that character on my screen! This is another show I’m really looking forward to returning and probably one of my favourite shows of all time!

1899

From the creators of Dark comes a new tv series, 1899.

Dark was loved by many Netflix viewers, and we were all anxiously waiting to see what the creators would do next. 1899 is an eight episode series set among European immigrants struggling to reach the “new world”. The series will follow the mysterious circumstances around the voyage of a ship from Europe to New York when they discover a second ship adrift on the open sea that has been missing for months. Now, their voyage is about to take a more horrifying turn…

Again, there is no set date for 1899 to be released because of production delays, but I’m looking forward to it as I’m excited to see what the filming style looks like. The show will almost entirely be shot on a virtual production stage using LED-Volume Technology. It’s the same filming style as seen in The Mandalorian and it absolutely blew my mind when I saw it being used in behind the scenes footage of The Mandalorian.

To put it very simply, it’s a step up from green screens and essentially has a background on these screens like a TV. it looks incredible so I can’t wait to see how 1899 uses this tech!

She-Hulk

Again, no set release date for She-Hulk just yet, but it will be on Disney+ someone in 2022. The series consists of 10 parts and follows Jennifer Walters who, well, gains Hulk-like powers. Walters will be played by Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany and The Good Place’s Jameela Jamil. Of course, Mark Ruffalo will be reprising his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

For me, Marvel has yet to do a series as good and groundbreaking as WandaVision, but only time will tell!

A Discovery of Witches (Final Season)

A Discovery of Witches final season will be coming in 2022. It’s a bittersweet farewell, as I feel The Discovery of Witches deserves so much more hype around it as it is THAT good. And from what I’ve heard, it captures the essence of the books it’s based on very well and actually does them justice. But on the other hand, at least the show will be ending on what looks to be a high.

If you’re a fan of magic, and the dark academia aesthetic you will absolutely adore this show! And over Christmas will be the perfect time to binge-watch it if you haven’t already, as the final season will be out in early January!

I can’t wait to watch these 2022 TV shows. Which ones are you most looking forward to?
